Destiny 2’s Arcstrider elevates the old Bladedancer to new levels.
Bungie is slowly drip-feeding Destiny 2 details as the weeks go on. What started with the big reveal in May, has continued at E3 this past week.
The Hunter Arcstrider subclass was the star of the show this time around, and we now have all the remaining details about the subclass’ passive skill tree, the different grenades and so on, complete with official descriptions of each one.
What we need more of, though, is gameplay impressions of how the new subclass actually plays, and how the different abilities can be customised to offer a specific experience.
Alex‘s video above does just that, offering a fresh perspective on the place the Arcstrider has in the meta, based on hands-on gameplay.
This is especially interesting considering Arcstrider shares some aspects with the first game’s Bladedancer subclass.
Most of the gameplay in the video is from the Destiny event, not E3. Bungie didn’t allow direct capture at E3, so we’re left with a few seconds of new footage captured off screen. Regardless, Alex does a good job of using existing footage to illustrate what he’s talking about as much as possible.
Destiny 2 is out September 6 on PS4, and Xbox One. The PC version releases October 24.
