Videos show Nazi and anti-semitic content which YouTuber claims were “jokes”.
Disney has severed ties with PewDiePie after the YouTube star released a series of videos containing Nazi imagery and anti-semitic content.
In one video released on January 11, the YouTuber, real name Felix Kjellberg, paid people to hold up a sign reading “death to all Jews”.
“Although Felix has created a following by being provocative and irreverent, he clearly went too far in this case and the resulting videos are inappropriate,” said Maker Studios, the YouTuber agency owned by Disney.
“Though this was not my intention, I understand that these jokes were ultimately offensive,” said PewDiePie, according to the BBC.
Last year it’s estimated PewDiePie earned $15 million through YouTube.
